• Denise Dundon

Denise is originally from Missouri but has lived in Denver, Colorado for over twenty five years. Growing up, she never gave a lot of thought to creating art until her senior year in high school. At that time, she watched some painting shows on television and decided she wanted to learn to paint. She bought some oil paints, brushes, and some books, and started to teach herself. She also got a few private lessons with a local artist.
About ten years ago, she transitioned to water-soluble oil paints to minimize exposure to any harmful chemicals. She draws her inspiration for painting from nature and likes to paint landscapes. Since she is surrounded by the beauty of the mountains of Colorado, there is a lot of inspiration to draw upon. She also recently has begun branching out to abstract painting with acrylic paints and also experimenting with filters on digital graphic software packages to create digital paintings.
Currently, some of her work has been accepted into the library for a new digital canvas device called Canvia and also at the websites TurningArt.com and Daylighted.com
