Giorgi Jamburia

My style and inspiration alters in the very course of painting. I work on different themes: religious, abstract and social issues. I let my inspiration decide which topic and style to choose for a certain painting. Working on different materials has a significant influence on the texture of a painting; e.g.religious themes are performed in linocut. The technique and texture communicate the main idea of the theme in different ways; for instance, black and white, black and red tones are sharp and expressive, which gives a rather characteristic touch to the painting.

Since 2009, my style evolved and I have switched to realistic surrealism as I feel that it is a fascinating and versatile topic both from contextual and technical perspective. Realistic surrealism can be rather plain, that's why I play with color and pay a lot of attention to trends in colors. My works express my desire and constant quest for something new and inspiring.
