I have always claimed that inspiration and intuition can never be trained or acquired but are born from within one’s marvellous DNA chain. This can promptly be noticed from how this artist interprets what reaches his attention through his “third eye” that acknowledges only what it likes, processing and eliminating what it considers superfluous to then produce its own artistic creation. Nothing could be simpler but the pathway for true art is achieved with the ability to epitomize and express emotion, together with balance and sobriety, virtuosity and geniality and last but not least love. Without these ingredients what has been produced cannot be described as “masterpiece” or “genius”. I must confess that, with great appreciation, I have found in Vaclav Pisvejc the above-mentioned elements that unequivocally characterize the whole of his artistic production.
His fast and dedicated painting technique dictates the captivating and amiable brushstrokes that generate a modern “vedovismo” re-elaborated in a post-expressionist key. The portrayed (most are famous artists of the past) are revisited and rectified to a new source of light and colour that enables the painting to be enjoyable and entertaining (his teacher is the famous Emilio Vedova). I define as fabulous the “untitled” works depicting moving naked models, creating a wonderfully propulsive dynamism that raises the visual and emotional standards to the desirable and obtainable harmonic pleasure. The impression is that everything has already been written and taken as granted. Instead, the strength, eccentricity and broad capacities of this artist are appreciated by observing the smoothness of the glaze together with the strength of lines and contrasts that are applied in an increasing evolution of total pleasantness.

I have met several artists from Eastern Europe and I can assert that in many of them the viewer can recognize an artistic approach set according to the Russian school art, of great influence on art throughout the world. In Vaclav this amalgamates towards of a more vibrant, soft and enveloping dynamism with respect to orthodox archetypes, though in a modern way. Vaclav Pisvejc has produced a large amount of art work but I have never noticed recurring chromatics or signs as regards general characteristics, finding each work to be different and emotional in equal measure. From the chosen colours transpires a genuine lively and perky tendency, a colour effect as if the painting is “backlit”, demonstrating the ability to use the entire palette extensively with a lyric and skillful avail of colours to create desired contrasts, keeping up with the times. There are many lilac transparencies, often blended with pink and green, sometimes the use of heavenly hues typical of the Antilles seas, other times the use of the powerful warm yellow of the south, with priority given to the red colour-range, typical of the vigour and the passion for art that flows through his veins. As Vaclav often says and asserts, it is the pursuit of pure creational craftsmanship (i.e. the ability of recreating the particular traits that identify a models’ character and his somatic features), a challenge where the artist is be the only one accountable for the portrait created, as it once was before the age of photographic or computer technology assistance. This challenge takes into account the awareness of the great selfesteem supported by a stylistic safety together with the demonstrated skills, that undoubtedly generate the final difference in quality. Vaclav Pisvejc has produced many works and demonstrated his abilities all over the world, from his homeland to other far away countries (as in the United States) always being immediately appreciated and being able to sell his works for a living, as a true artist should do by nature. To know that nowadays there are artists capable of attracting attention in a virtuous way (despite the existence of many ephemeral faddish artists and the surrounding excess of superficiality) fully satisfies my dedication to art, alleviates the burden of my sacrifice to art and gratifies what my eyes can seen before they close, because so much genius has been made person through him. I am sure that Vaclav Pisvejc will soon be spoken of as a peer in the hall of fame of the sacred and renowned artists.
